Which spatial unit for simulations

In order to build up the database and use it in the future, it is first necessary to define the spatial unit to be modelled.

There are various possibilities:

• Based on SAFRAN grid, with other data aggregated to these grids (soil depth class, soil type, etc.)
• Overlay SAFRAN grid, soil depth classes, and soil types and simulate each triplet. In this case, the soil depth and soil type data must first be classified.
• The same as above, but with the climate types classified. The problem with this is that the user will not be able to query the database by providing a particular study area, whereas this may be possible in the previous proposals.
